The Top Walt Disney World Attractions You Must Visit

Walt Disney World in Orlando is one of the top vacation destinations in the nation, and for good reason. Situated in Bay Lake and Lake Buena Vista, Florida, there are a variety of rides, activities, and entertainment events that the whole family can enjoy. With four large theme parks, two incredible water parks, a sports complex, and 25 hotels, there’s always something to do.

Let’s take a look at the top Walt Disney World attractions you should visit below.

Pirates Of The Caribbean Ride
As one of Disney World’s most popular attractions, the Pirates of the Caribbean ride is full of storytelling, music, robotics, and an array of special effects. Located in Adventureland, right inside of the Magic Kingdom, adults and children will be asked to board a weathered barge for a unique voyage back to the 17th century. You’ll have a chance to sail past Dead Man’s Cave, and you may even spot Captain Jack Sparrow himself!

The Magic Kingdom
A trip to Walt Disney World would be incomplete without visiting The Magic Kingdom. Known as the iconic Cinderella Castle, The Magic Kingdom is one of the theme park’s biggest attractions, welcoming roughly 20 million tourists and guests each and every year. The park is split up into six unique lands: Adventureland, Fantasyland, Frontierland, Main Street, Liberty Square, and Tomorrowland.

Twilight Zone Tower Of Terror
If a spooky elevator-style lift ride sounds right up your ally, make sure you pick a day to visit the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. This ride is based on the popular television series, The Twilight Zone, that aired from 1959 to 1964. You and your family will step inside the famous Hollywood Tower Hotel to find a hotel lobby that appears to be frozen in time. You will then be asked to step onto a rickety lift, as you are propelled up and down unexpectedly for a thrilling ride. Since this attraction features sudden, fast drops, it may be frightening for young children.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
The Big Thunder Mountain Railroad attraction at Walt Disney World is a wonderful ride for mild thrill-seekers. Once you board this mine train, you’ll be immersed in an old gold-mining town where your journey will begin with a dark tunnel. From there, you’ll ride under a waterfall, past desert caverns, and more. You’ll also get a glimpse of local animals, like bats, goats, and even opossums.

Astro Orbiter
The Astro Orbiter is another great attraction at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. With this ride, you and your child will get to pilot your very own spaceship. When you arrive at this attraction, you will board an elevator with other cadets to ascend to the loading platform. From there, you will choose your very own two-passenger spaceship. You’ll want to hold on tight as your spacecraft starts to soar around planets. A big perk of this ride is that you are in control of how you fly by pulling or pushing a lever inside of the spacecraft.

Mickey’s PhilharMagic
If you like 3D movies, you’ll love visiting Mickey’s PhilharMagic musical. This 12-minute 3D movie stars some of Disney’s most beloved characters, including Donald Duck. You’ll join Donald on an interactive tour of some of Disney’s most memorable songs, including “Be Our Guest” from Beauty and the Beast, and “I Just Can’t Wait To Be King” from The Lion King. As you sing these memorable songs, you’ll be magically transported to various Disney settings like the Beast’s Dining Hall and Simba’s Africa.

Swiss Family Treehouse
If your child loves to explore, make sure you plan a trip to the Swiss Family Treehouse for the ultimate treehouse experience. You and your little one will be able to cross bridges and climb handcrafted wooden stairs (it takes 116 stairs to make it to the top) during this Disney adventure. At the very base of the treehouse, you’ll see a large wooden wheel that gathers water from a stream. In some of the rooms of the treehouse, you’ll find contraptions that allow you to carry water up to the rooms.

Prince Charming Regal Carrousel
The Prince Charming Regal Carrousel was inspired by Disney’s own Cinderella. This classic Disney World Attraction features 90 wood-carved horses that you can choose to ride on with your little one. Some horses have decorative helmets, while other feature flowing flower garlands and feathers. The attraction was originally constructed in 1917 and is one of Disney’s most popular rides.

Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor
If you’re looking for a laugh, stop by the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor. As the only laugh factory in Mostropolis, this comedy show is hosted by Mike Wazowski himself. These scare-actors are known for engaging the audience, so don’t be surprised if you or your child becomes a part of the live show.

Jungle Cruise
The Jungle Cruise is a scenic and comedic boat tour that crosses the exotic waters of South America, Asia, and Africa. As you cruise past waterfalls on the Amazon, gorillas of the African Congo, elephants and hippos of the Nile, you and your children will love this 10-minute adventure.
