In our last blog post, we touched on a few of the reasons that our team will always choose to fly over driving to our travel destination. While those four reasons were definitely some of the primary reasons we stick to flying, they certainly weren’t the only ones. Today’s blog is going to continue to provide you with a few of the perks that you’ll be able to enjoy when you opt to fly to your travel destination instead of drive.
Reason #5: People Get Cranky
Everyone has this idea that a road trip is going to be a great way to spend some time with the family and really take in the scenery, but very rarely is that the case. Once you get into the car, you realize that time is of the essence which means that breaks are short and you really focus on powering through this part of your trip.
In regards to kids, road trips are a time for them to plug into their iPad or phone, watch a couple of movies, listen to great music, and do their absolute best not to fight with siblings. Is this sounding a little more familiar now? People get cranky and tensions rise, not exactly the ideal scenario for a vacation.
While many families do power through and make it to their final destination, why choose to start your trip on this foot? Rather than make the part of your trip that is dedicated to traveling miserable, opt for a mode of transportation that is going to be quick and get you to your vacation spot all the faster.
Reason #6: Added Miles on the Car
Any trip that you take in your car is going to put miles on it. Whether you’re driving to a neighboring state or you’re driving across the country, these are miles that you need to take into consideration. For most of us, having a nice car to drive to and from work is one thing, but we don’t exactly anticipate putting 3,000+ miles on a car in one get away.
Aside from the miles, you need to worry about whether or not your car is going to be able to handle the miles it’s going to drive. For some, the age of the vehicle and prior issues will make driving a less than ideal option. And in those instances, where the family car isn’t going to be able to get you to your final destination, you turn to a rental car. In the end, that means more money spent.
If the last thing that you want to do is add miles to your car or spend additional money on a rental car, trust us — flying is going to be a much better option.
Reason #7: More Room for Luggage
If you’ve ever been on a road trip, you know what the trunk of the car looks like. Even with one or two people traveling, it takes very little luggage to fill up the space. When you start to consider the amount of luggage that a family is going to need for a vacation, the space becomes even more limited. On top of that, you need to consider things like jackets, pillows, snacks, and the like that will also have to fit somewhere inside of the car while you’re traveling.
This point leads us to reason number seven that flying is better: more room for luggage. Most flights will provide you with the option to check a bag and allow you to bring a carry on bag. These pieces of luggage are already factored into the price of the ticket with some airlines, and they don’t leave you crammed in a car. That means that each family member can pack what they’d like, and you don’t have to worry about how it’s all going to fit.
Reason #8: Prioritize Safety
A fear of flying isn’t something unusual, and we understand that. While takeoff and landing might be a little rough, driving is actually the more dangerous of the two travel options. So, if you’re someone that is wanting to ensure that whichever mode of transportation you select it’s safer, flying is the way to go.
Sure, flying is a faster mode of transportation and it’s not exactly traditional, at least for most of us. Even so, there are far more accidents that occur on the roads and in cars, which means that you’re putting any and all travelers at risk when you choose to travel long distances in a car.
